How To Fix Computer Errors In 15 Minutes Or Less?

This article outlines simple pragmatic steps to resolve many of the root causes of computer errors. Each recommendation can usually be implemented in less than 15 minutes.

Most Common Computer Errors - Computers have brought dramatic changes in our day to day lives, yet like any machine, they need regular maintenance and upgrade. Many users do not yet realise that the solution required to fix and prevent most computer errors are in fact really simple.

In the majority of cases, errors exist in the EXE, DLL and driver files. This occurs often due the fact that invalid or corrupt entries have been made in the registry. These files are important as they create entries in the registry, which are in turn used to operate the computer. When the registry becomes unstable or damaged, it will significantly slow down the computer, and will create random responses.

Run Defragmenter - To begin with, run a disk defragmenter. This operation stores the many parts of the many files on the hard disk closer together and contiguously.Using a defragmentation software frees up large region of space using compaction, and this makes it easier for the computer to find information on the hard disk and reduce computer errors.

Registry Scan - In order to fix computer errors in the registry, it is also advisable to complete periodic registry scans, as this enables unwanted data to be detected and subsequently deleted. Registry repair software are ideal to complete this operation easily. Users can choose from a variety of registry repair software, which can also complete many registry maintenance activities, for example remove malevolent software such as viruses and spyware, in addition, many of these same computer programs will also backup, scan and fix the registry and finally defragment the computer. Click on fix computer errors for more information.

Remove Spyware and Viruses - Spyware and virus programs create most of the computer errors. Computer viruses are malicious programs which often adversely impact computer performance. By contrast, spyware copy malicious programs onto the computer and this code is subsequently executed to steal confidential data. This code is frequently sent to third parties later for malicious use. A common sense approach is the best guarantee to fix computer errors due to viruses or spyware and this entails updating any anti-virus and anti-spyware tools. Click on adware and spyware removal for more information.

Fix Boot Sector - Faulty programs, in addition to virus infections can also damage computer boot sectors, and this can prevent the system from booting. In order to fix computer errors, which relate to booting, it is advisable to use the relevant operating system booting CD usually provided with your computer. For example, most XP users will be able to solve many problems with the Windows XP installation by using the relevant CD.

Upgrade Your RAM - Insufficient memory is another source of errors, which can lead to various computer problems. Some of these problems result in system crashes, blue screen, system hang, sudden restart or even crashing software programs. In order to fix computer errors which relate to memory, one can use free software that help solve RAM and memory related problems. These software tools greatly improve computer performance and are also very easy to use. Testing the memory of the computer is also recommended in that event.

How to fix a slow computer in less than 15 minutes?

There are many ways to speed up computers and improve their performance, this article covers simple steps that anyone can follow. Step 1 or Step 2 in this article can generally be implemented within 15 minutes with a PC or a Mac.

Step 1 -  Clean the computer registry

Slow computers often have errors in their registry. The registry is comparable to a nervous system. Its main function is to connect software hardware and computer files. Over time the performance of any computer reduces as errors accumulate in the registry, which can also become corrupted. Locating then fixing errors in the registry is therefore frequently required. Users could in theory attempt to cleanup the registry manually, however this method is not recommended as it requires deep knowledge of both the structure of the registry and its functions. Registry repair software are usually fast and reliable and offer overall, a better alternative to correct errors, delete unused files, poor links and deal with ActiveX components. Click on compare registry fix software for more information.

Step 2 - Delete and block adware and spyware

Another common reason leading to computers slowing-down, is the large number of spyware and adware, which are downloaded from the Internet, often without the users knowledge. Often, this takes place when peer to peer (P2P) networks are used to download videos and music for example. A straightforward solution to improve the speed of any computer is to use an anti spyware or adware program to scan, remove then block adware and spyware. In order to try out the right anti spyware or adware program, it is preferable to use a trial version which is usually free. Among the key features to consider are Ease of Download and Simplicity of Use, Automatic Backup, Quality of Customer Service, and of course the overall effectiveness of the software. The best software tend to be the simplest to use and rely on a research capability that constantly updates the software for new threats. Click on best adware spyware removal for more information.

Step 3 - Eliminate viruses

Unsurprisingly many computer viruses can slow down computers and drive down response times. Computer viruses must be deleted for two reasons, firstly they often damage files, secondly they tend to waste memory and disk space. By running the latest version of the best anti-virus programs, users should overcome these problems and be in a better position to improve their computer performance.

Step 4 - Simple housekeeping tasks

There are many simple housekeeping tasks which can be done to improve the speed of any computer, for example uninstalling any software that is not needed.  Stopping programs launching automatically is also useful to speed up any computer and is usually very straightforward. Small improvements can be expected from these simple tasks.

Step 5 - Optimise the Hard disk

For hard disks which are smaller than 2GB then at least 200MB of disk should be kept free and at least 500MB for larger hard disks. Computer speed also depend on the free space on the hard disk, as temporary files are placed there by computer software. This is also used for swapping files when the operating system needs to use virtual memory as it runs out of RAM. In that event, unless sufficient  space is free on the hard disk, the system slows down significantly. Disk scanning programs such as Scandisk for Windows can help check for errors on the hard disk. For example, whilst the hard drive may be large enough, the problem may be that it is too fragmented or that some of its sectors have been damaged. Defragmenting the hard disk is another action, which will improve the response time of any computer.

Step 6 - Optimising the RAM

Some programs are poorly designed and do not release RAM resources after they are closed. This reduces the RAM which is available for other programs. Running out of RAM too fast is not uncommon and users who have this problem should consider upgrading the memory on their computer. An alternative free option is simply to not run some computer programs at the same time as each other.

Step 7 - Stop the computer from overheating

Faulty fans are a common cause leading to the computer overheating, slowing down then freezing as a result. To overcome this problem, installing a new fan is the best solution which will reduce the computer’s temperature by increasing the airflow and ultimately improve response time.

Four Golden Rules Of Adware Elimination!

Adware should be eliminated - Adware are software often designed to display ads, which frequently reduce computer speed and cause further issues. They adversely impact computer response times by using RAM and PCU resources and often reducing the speed of any internet connection. This article outlines four simple ways to remove Adware from any system.

Rule 1: Use Adware remover software - Our recommended solution is simply to use an adware removal software and follow some simple steps to prevent undesirable adware installation on your computer. Trying free Adware removal software first - It is usually straightforward to use a free version of any adware removal software. This method is a good one, to check if a software meets your needs as well as experience any support and customer service. Click on how do I get rid of adware for more information

Rule 2: Avoid P2P- It usually pays to be cautious with the programs you download from the internet. For instance programs delivered using Peer to Peer network (Peer to Peer/ P2P programs) should generally be avoided. Many of these software intrude computers to install adware, (whether or not their publishers would admit to it), and in practice leave computers vulnerable to virus attacks. Since P2P are commonly used to share multimedia content, this restriction is a challenge for many user. It usually pays to recognise if you are likely to make use of P2P and if so, you should use your preferred adware removal software after each download in order to remove any unwanted software.

Rule 3: Stay clear of “weird” emails - Another good way to prevent the installation of adware on any computer is simply not to open any emails from unrecognized sources, especially if they contain attachments. Remember, email messages which look too good to be true probably are and should be deleted. Click on how to remove spyware for more information

Rule 4: Disable cookies -  Unless you know and trust the site you are browsing, you should disallow cookies. Cookies can make browsing the Internet more convenient by allowing your favorite sites to recognize you, but Cookies will also allow adware, including spyware which are programmed to  steal important information about you which could end up in the wrong hands.

How to fix a slow computer in less than 15 minutes?

This article covers simple steps that any user can follow to rapidly make any computer faster. Implementing either of the first two steps in this article should take less than 15 minutes using a PC or Mac.

Step 1 -  Clean the computer registry

Slow computers often have errors in their registry. The main functions of a registry are about connecting hardware, software and computer files. In practice therefore, the computer registry acts as the computer’s nervous system. Over time the performance of any computer reduces as errors accumulate in the registry, which can also become corrupted. A straightforward step is to locate any errors in the registry then repair them. Despite the fact that it is possible to repair the registry manually in theory, this method is not recommended. The main reason for this, is that it requires strong knowledge of the structure of the registry as well as its functions.

Typically this occurs when downloading videos, music or other files from peer to peer (P2P) networks. An easy solution to improve the response time of any computer is to run an anti spyware or adware program which will scan, remove then block adware and spyware. In order to try out the right anti spyware or adware program, it is preferable to use a trial version which is usually free. Ease of Download and Simplicity of Use, Automatic Backup, Quality of Customer Service, and of course the overall effectiveness of the software are the main features to consider.

Another tip is to stop programs launching automatically, as this will also improve the speed of the computer. These simple tasks generally produce marginal improvements.

Step 5 - Optimise the Hard disk

For hard disks which are smaller than 2GB then at least 200MB of disk should be kept free and at least 500MB for larger hard disks. The amount of free space on the hard drive is a key factor of performance as it is used by temporary files needed by software to run. This also enables the operating system to swap files using the hard disk as it runs out of RAM. In that event, unless sufficient  space is free on the hard disk, the system slows down significantly. Disk scanning programs such as Scandisk for Windows help scan for errors on the hard disk itself. For instance, your hard disk may be large enough but too fragmented and some disk sectors may have been damaged. Using a defragmentation program will also improve any computer’s speed.

Step 6 - Optimising the RAM

Some programs are poorly designed and do not release RAM resources after they are closed. This reduces the amount of memory available for other programs. Computers frequently run out of RAM after a while. In order to overcome this, ugrading the RAM is probably necessary. Another free option is to avoid using some computer programs simultaneously.

Step 7 - Stop the computer from overheating

Faulty fans are a common cause leading to the computer overheating, slowing down then freezing as a result. The best solution is often to replace the fan, this overcomes the problem by increasing the air flow through the computer thereby reducing its temperature and ultimately improving reponse times.

Compuer Users! Four Rules To Eliminate Adware!

Most Adware are undesirable - Adware are programs designed to display ads, which can also dramatically slow down your computer and cause issues. They slow down your computer by using RAM and PCU cycles and can also slow down your Internet connection. This article provides guidance, which anyone can follow to remove adware from any system.

Rule 1: Use Adware remover software - Our recommended solution is simply to use an adware removal software and follow some simple steps to prevent undesirable adware installation on your computer. Try free Adware removal programs versions first - It is generally easy to try adware removal programs free. This it is a great way to test whether a program meets your expectations and also test the quality of the service provided by any customer service. Click on how do I get rid of adware for more information

Rule 2: Avoid P2P- It usually pays to be cautious with the programs you download from the internet. For example software, which can be downloaded using Peer to Peer networks (Peer to Peer/P2P software) should not be used. Many of these programs install adware on your computer, regardless of how much the publishers might claim not to support such a practice and this can also leave your computer vulnerable to viruses. The fact remains that Peer to Peer networks are widely used to share music and films, and this constitutes a challenge for many users. You should make a conscious decision on whether or not to use Peer to Peer networks, and in that event use a popular adware removal program soon after downloading any file from any P2P network in order to eliminate any adware.

Rule 3: Unprompted email warning - Another good step to follow is to not open emails from unfamiliar sources especially if they contain attachments. It is also worth remembering that if a message “feels” to good to be true and it probably is, hitting “Delete” may be the smartest move in that event. Click on how to remove spyware for more information

Rule 4: Disable cookies -  Unless you know and trust the site you are browsing, you should disallow cookies. Cookies were once meant to make browsing the Internet easier by enabling websites to recognise you, but cookies also open the door to adware, including spyware which are programmed to copy and send important user information, which can ultimately end up in the wrong hands.

HOW TO SPEED UP YOUR COMPUTER IN LESS THAN 15 MINUTES

Optimising the performance of any computer is easier than many users think. This article provides simple steps to speed up any computer quickly. PC or Mac users should be able to implement either of the first two steps in this article in less than 15 minutes.

Step 1 -  Clean the computer registry

Slow computers often have errors in their registry. The registry is comparable to a nervous system. Its main function is to connect software hardware and computer files. Over time, errors occur and this slows down computers, frequently their registry become corrupted. A straightforward step is to locate any errors in the registry then repair them. Despite the fact that it is possible to repair the registry manually in theory, this method is not recommended. The main reason for this, is that it requires strong knowledge of the structure of the registry as well as its functions. Using a registry cleaner software is a faster, more reliable option to eliminate errors, redundant files, incorrect links and deal with ActiveX components. Click on fix computer registry for more information.

Step 2 - Delete and block adware and spyware

Another common reason leading to computers slowing-down, is the large number of spyware and adware, which are downloaded from the Internet, often without the users knowledge. This happens particularly often, when peer to peer networks are being used to download music and videos for example. An easy solution to improve the response time of any computer is to run an anti spyware or adware program which will scan, remove then block adware and spyware. In order to try out the right anti spyware or adware program, it is preferable to use a trial version which is usually free. The overall effectiveness of the software is obviously the main feature to consider, however other features are also important such as Ease of Download and Simplicity of Use, Automatic Backup, Quality of Customer Service. The best software tend to be the simplest to use and rely on a research capability that constantly updates the software for new threats. Click on best adware spyware removal for more information.

Step 3 - Eliminate viruses

Unsurprisingly many computer viruses can slow down computers and drive down response times. Computer viruses often damage files, can consume excessive amount of memory and take a large amount of space on the hard disk. Running the latest version of some of the leading anti-virus software should overcome these problems and users who do so will be in a stronger position to improve the performance of their computer.

Step 4 - Simple housekeeping tasks

There are many simple housekeeping tasks which can be done to improve the speed of any computer, for example uninstalling any software that is not needed.  Alternatively, stopping programs to launch automatically can also improve the performance of any computer. Marginal improvements usually result from these simple tasks.

Step 5 - Optimise the Hard disk

For hard disks which are smaller than 2GB then at least 200MB of disk should be kept free and at least 500MB for larger hard disks. Computer speed also depend on the free space on the hard disk, as temporary files are placed there by computer software. This also enables the operating system to swap files using the hard disk as it runs out of RAM. The system can slow down significantly in that event, if space on the hard disk is insufficient. Disk scanning programs such as Scandisk for Windows help scan for errors on the hard disk itself. For instance the hard disk may be too fragmented and some of its sectors may be damaged, and this can create problems even if the hard drive is large enough. Running a defragmentation program is another step that can be completed to improve  the speed of any computer.

Step 6 - Optimising the RAM

Some programs are poorly designed and do not release RAM resources after they are closed. This reduces the amount of memory available for other programs. Running out of RAM too fast is not uncommon and users who have this problem should consider upgrading the memory on their computer. Alternatively running certain programs simultaneously should also be avoided, this option is of course free.

Step 7 - Stop the computer from overheating

Faulty fans are a common cause leading to the computer overheating, slowing down then freezing as a result. Installing a new fan is the best solution to overcome this problem, as this increases the air flow through the computer thereby reducing the machine’s temperature and improving its performance.

Don’t Just Rely on the Google and MSN Toolbars For Popups and Spyware Protection!

This article describes the disadvantages of relying on freeware to block popups, in the wider context of adware and spyware protection.

Adware is a common term meaning any type of software designed to play, display or download adverts on computers. Some adware are known as spyware due to their function, which consists of collecting then sharing some personal information about the users without their knowledge or consent.

Adware popups have become a common irritation for most users and many are now looking for free ways to disable them. Many users do not think twice before relying on the free popup blocking functionality provided by the Google or MSN toolbar. Most users do not think beyond blocking popups, very few know about the relationship between popups and spyware. Only a minority of users take the right steps to protect themselves. Yet, in order to protect the users’ privacy, preserve the integrity of their computers, and make any computing experience a pleasant one, both removal and prevention are important. This contrasts with just blocking popups, which simply creates a false sense of security. This is the consequence of the real major problem with popups, which is not so much that they are an irritation, but rather the manifestation of spyware attacks. This issue is clearly evidenced by the many popups which can appear, even when computers are disconnected from the internet.

Changing the browser settings is free and a step in the right direction

Blocking adware popups whilst browsing is easy enough. Changing the privacy settings so that popups can no longer appear on screen can be done as follows:

·      Select Control Panel in your computer

·      Click on the Internet Options icon

·      Click on the Privacy tab.

·      There is a box next to “Turn on Pop Up Blocker”.

·      Tick this box and you will block adware popups.

Once the settings have been changed, users should adjust the privacy levels on their computer. Another option is to use the MSN or Google toolbar. Either toolbar can improve security when browsing the Internet. For more information, click on free popup blockers.

But, how about true protection? Are most users missing the bigger picture?

Users who seek to block adware popups, often forget that there is a high likelihood that their computer has already been infected with adware and spyware. Popup blocker programs like those included with the Google and MSN toolbars are useful, yet have inherent limitations. The main limitations is that they are only dealing with one aspect of the protection required to safeguard the users privacy and the integrity of their system. For more information click on block spyware.

It is highly recommended at this point to think more broadly on how to protect the users privacy, and computer integrity from spyware and other adware. In addition to running an anti-virus software that is up to date, users should remove the spyware and adware on their computer. Frequently users download adware and spyware unknowingly.

The removal of adware and spyware can be achieved easily using popular anti adware and spyware programs, which usually also offer the functionality to block popups. The most popular adware and spyware removal tools benefit from frequent updates, which rely on research teams who review the latest adware and spyware threats. Adware and spyware removal programs can also block popups, and this deals with the root causes of adware and spyware infections. This method is clearly more effective than relying on free popup blocker software. For more information click on adware spyware removal.

Popups and Spyware Protection Need Better Tools Than Google and MSN Toolbars !

This article describes the disadvantages of relying on freeware to block popups, in the wider context of adware and spyware protection.

Adware is a common term meaning any type of software designed to play, display or download adverts on computers. Some adware are called spyware because their functions are invasive: They consist of obtaining then sharing some personal information about the users without their consent or knowledge.

Adware popups have become a common irritation for most users and many are now looking for free ways to disable them. Google and MSN toolbars offer free popup blockers functionality and many users rely on them for protection. Most users do not think beyond blocking popups, very few know about the relationship between popups and spyware. Only a minority of users take the right steps to protect themselves. The fact remains, that both the removal of adware and spyware as well as their prevention are necessary to protect the users privacy, safeguard the integrity of their computers and achieve a pleasant user experience on line. This contrasts with the false sense of security which can result from just relying on blocking popups. This is because the most serious problem with popups is not just that they are “irritating”, but rather that they are often the symptom of spyware infection, as is demonstrated by popups appearing when users are not even connected to the internet.

Another option is to install the Google or MSN toolbar. Both toolbars will improve security when users browse the Internet. For more information, click on free popup blockers.

But, what about achieving complete protection? Are most users seeing the bigger picture?

Unfortunately, most users simply focus on blocking popups then forget that their computer is probably infected with adware and spyware. Popup blockers such as those offered by the Google and MSN toolbars, whilst useful are just dealing with one aspect of privacy and system integrity protection. For more information click on block spyware.

It is highly recommended at this point to think more broadly on how to protect the users privacy, and computer integrity from spyware and other adware. Users should also remove spyware and adware from their computer using appropriate tools, then run an up to date anti-virus software. Adware and spyware are frequently downloaded without the users’ knowledge.

Getting rid of adware and spyware is easily achieved with the most popular adware and spyware removal programs, which can also block popup ads. The most popular adware and spyware removal software are frequently updated and rely on research teams to detect and review the latest adware and spyware. Adware and spyware removal programs can also block popups, and this deals with the root causes of adware and spyware infections. This approach is therefore more effective than the reliance on free popup blockers. For more information click on adware spyware removal.

How to optimise computer performance in 15 minutes or less

This article covers simple steps that any user can follow to rapidly make any computer faster. PC or Mac users should be able to implement either of the first two steps in this article in less than 15 minutes.

Step 1 -  Clean the computer registry

Slow computers often have errors in their registry. The main functions of a registry are about connecting hardware, software and computer files. In practice therefore, the computer registry acts as the computer’s nervous system. Typically the computer registry becomes more prone to errors over time, is frequently corrupted, and this slows down the computer. Locating then fixing errors in the registry is therefore frequently required. Users could in theory attempt to cleanup the registry manually, however this method is not recommended as it requires deep knowledge of both the structure of the registry and its functions.

Often, this takes place when peer to peer (P2P) networks are used to download videos and music for example. One of the simplest solutions to improve any computer’s speed is to use an anti spyware or adware software to scan, remove and block these unwanted threats. Before buying any anti spyware or adware software it is best to use the trial version which is often free.

Running the latest version of the best anti-virus programs will fix many of the problems which are detrimental to computer performance.

Step 4 - Simple housekeeping tasks

There are many simple housekeeping tasks which can be done to improve the speed of any computer, for example uninstalling any software that is not needed.  Alternatively, stopping programs to launch automatically can also improve the performance of any computer. These simple tasks generally produce marginal improvements.

Step 5 - Optimise the Hard disk

For hard disks which are smaller than 2GB then at least 200MB of disk should be kept free and at least 500MB for larger hard disks. This freed up space is an important factor of computer speed as it is used by temporary files which software require to work effectively. This free space also enables your computer to swap files as the computers starts using virtual memory (when it runs out of RAM). In that event, unless sufficient  space is free on the hard disk, the system slows down significantly. Disk scanning programs such as Scandisk for Windows , can also help check for errors on the hard disk itself. For instance whilst some hard disks may be large enough, they may be too fragmented with some sectors being unusable. Running a defragmentation program is another step that can be completed to improve  the speed of any computer.

Step 6 - Optimising the RAM

Some programs are poorly designed and do not release RAM resources after they are closed. This adversely impacts the RAM available for other programs.

To overcome this problem, replacing the fan is the most pragmatic solution. The effect should be immediate as this will increase the flow of air through the computer, thereby reducing the computer’s temperature and increasing its speed as a result.
